Our faculty are national and international leaders in the fields of Sexuality Studies, Trans Studies, and Queer of Color Critique. These fields center on the lives of queer and trans people and their strategies of survival and resistance in the face of state oppression and violence.

Faculty working in this area are experts on the global flow of sexual, racial, and gendered ideas and practices, the weaponization and politicization of sex and gender, and the historically and culturally specific construction of gender and sexual subjectivities.
