Bio
Chukwuebuka C. Ozor is a PhD student in Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Chancellor’s Fellow. His research examines the intersection of law and religion as technologies of governance, with a focus on how moral frameworks shape legal regulation in Nigeria. He is particularly interested in how forms of life persist under conditions of legal constraint and social surveillance, as well as in the limits of state power in regulating intimacy and private domains of life. His work engages legal scholarship alongside feminist theory, Black studies, and postcolonial critique, and is informed by a commitment to justice-oriented inquiry and public-facing scholarship.
