The Department of Feminist Studies stands in solidarity against anti-AAPI Violence. We support the work of the Department of Asian American Studies and AAPI student organizations at UCSB and partnership with others. We join calls to offer resources to those traumatized by the intensification of hate crimes, including recent physical violence and mass murder targetting AAPI people and communities. We insist on transparency about how white supremacist patriarchal power fuels historic and current violence that disproportionately affects AAPI women, who face multiple marginalization based on racialized sexual violence, immigration, class, sexuality, disability, and labor. We insist that all incidents against AAPI people and communities be reported and investigated, including at UCSB and in our community, to result in the outcome of accountability and healing.
